Olguin Signs with Andrew College
Congratulations to Nana Olguin, who on Friday, December 14, signed to play softball with the Andrew College Wildcats next year. Nana has worked hard on the Indian fields and on the off-season has played travel ball. All of us at Irwin County School System with Nana the best of luck in the future.
Indians Are State Runner-Up in Football
Congratulations Coach Nobles, Coaching Staff, and the 2018 Big Red Indians football team. The Indians had a great year of undefeated football!
Beta Club White Christmas
The ICHS Beta Club has had another successful white Christmas. The money given will be used to purchase Piggly Wiggly gift cards. The gift cards and the canned goods will be given to Irwin County Families.

Jami Willis Named System-Wide TOTY

Ms. Willis is a 1993 graduate of Tift Co. High School and 1997 graduate of Georgia Southern (Bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Ed: Science and Math). She has a Master of Science in Post Secondary Education from Troy University and is currently working on her EdS in Curriculum and Instruction at Kennesaw State University to graduate in May 2019. She holds certifications to teach PK-5; 4-8 Math, Science, and Reading; and 6-12 Science. She also has a Gifted Certification and is Google Educator Certified. She has been teaching for 22 years--8 years in Newton County Schools, 9 years in Cook County Schools, 2 years in Tift County Schools, and this is her third year in Irwin County.

FCCLA News
Georgia FCCLA President MiQuan Green and Region 8 Vice-President Morgan Nix visited the the Irwin FCCLA chapter member and Mrs. Denise Hamby's FACS class on Tuesday, Nov 13. They discussed how to be more effective students and FCCLA members. MiQuan gave the students a quote to remember: "If it is to be, it is up to me!" Morgan discussed the benefits of STAR events in future endeavors.
