Congratulations to our Irwin County High School Girls Cross Country Team on an outstanding performance at today's sectional competition in Wilcox, Georgia!

Competing in Class A Division II Sectional A, against teams from Regions 1–4, the Lady Indians rose to the challenge and secured a spot in the STATE MEET!

To advance to state, teams must finish among the top 12 competing teams, while individual runners can qualify by placing in the top 20. With approximately 12 complete teams and 18 teams represented overall, Irwin County finished among the top 12 teams to earn its place at state. The Lady Indians also secured an impressive 3rd-place finish among teams in our region!

Every runner deserves recognition for their hard work and determination. Our girls tackled a challenging sectional course, with each athlete either setting or coming close to achieving her personal record (PR). Their effort, preparation, and commitment were on full display!

NEXT STOP: STATE!

The Lady Indians will compete NEXT SATURDAY in Carrollton, Georgia, against the qualifiers from Sectional A (Regions 1–4) and Sectional B (Regions 5–8).

We are incredibly proud of these young ladies and their accomplishments. Congratulations to our runners and coaches on a job well done. Let's continue to support our Lady Indians as they represent Irwin County on the state stage!
