Irwin County Schools is celebrating National School Breakfast Week, this week. In appreciation of our local law enforcement, the school system would like to invite the local law enforcement, the Ocilla Police officers, the Irwin County Sheriff deputies, along with any Georgia State Patrol officers that are in the area to come and have breakfast tomorrow morning, Wednesday, March 8th, between 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. at either ICES or ICHS/ICMS. Our wrestlers will take on their first traditional tournament of the season in Cairo this Saturday. Then, Irwin will host Traditional Area next Saturday, February 4th at the ICHS gym. This tournament will also be our senior recognition ceremony for Mat Girls Jenna Griffin, Leslie Merritt, and Mary Tallee Wright.

The Irwin County School System is extremely proud of these students from ICHS and FHSCCA who are participating in the FLEX competition this year. The students competing in the FLEX program from Irwin County High School are Avery Harper and Connor Paulk. Avery's business is A+ Marketing and Connor Paulk's is Paulks Produce. For girls wanting to compete in Miss Red and Black, Walmart has these Valentines Card boxes that would be perfect to use for decorating your people’s choice box!! Applications to compete are now in the front office, and in Ms. Tucker’s and Mrs. C Wynn’s room!
“The high school student council is excited to announce a Valentine’s dance for Irwin County High School students. There will be finger foods and music. We encourage all students to come out and have a fun night!”
The Nathaniel Abney DAR Chapter, Fitzgerald presented ICHS History Teacher, Mrs. Scarlet Alberson, the Community Classroom. This non-profit group of ladies promote history preservation, education, and patriotism with their "Community Classroom Project." Mrs. Scarlet Alberson was presented a certificate and a check to purchase teaching tools by DAR Members: Melissa Humphries and Mary Jane Espinosa, and Community Classroom Chair Dianne Brown. ICHS Principal Jared Luke thanked the DAR Ladies for their generosity to Mrs. Scarlet Alberson and her U.S. History and World History Classes.
